Rules R1.2

Refunds are in the refund policy. The rulebook for OmbraProp evaluations and simulated funded accounts, Standard and Express, ruleset R1.2, last updated 24 October 2026. The rules of an account you have bought never change, and section 7 (live accounts) is planned and not available at launch.

Simulated accounts. No real money is traded. 18+. Full risk disclosure.

Principles

Every rule is objective, published in advance and enforced by software, and never changes for an account already bought.

Details
  1. Every rule is objective, published and enforced by software. If the engine let a trade through, it was within the rules. There are no discretion clauses, except the short, listed reasons for the planned live accounts in section 7.
  2. Rules never change for an account already bought.
  3. Few rules. One clear limit is better than three overlapping ones.
  4. Risk is controlled by limits set in advance, never by searching for reasons to refuse a payout.

1. Plans

Two plan styles, Standard and Express, each at 25K and 50K, with a one-time fee. Prices: see Pricing.

Details

There are two plan styles, each at 25K and 50K. Both are one step with a one-time fee and no activation fee. You choose the style when you buy, and it stays the same for that account, including once it is funded.

  • Standard has no daily loss limit. In the evaluation, your best day can be no more than 50% of your total profit.
  • Express has no consistency rule in the evaluation, so you can pass in one day. On 50K you can choose a daily loss limit when you buy.

2. Evaluation

Reach the profit target without touching the end-of-day trailing max loss floor; there is no time limit.

Contract limits count minis and micros together, with one mini counted as 10 micros. On 50K (4 / 40), 3 minis and 10 micros is at the limit; 4 minis and 1 micro is over it.

You pass when your balance reaches the profit target, you have not touched the max loss floor, and, on Standard, the consistency rule is met. Larger accounts (100K and 150K) are not offered at launch.

Definitions

The terms used in these rules, such as end-of-day trailing max loss and qualifying day, with worked examples.

Details
  • End-of-day trailing max loss. At each session close (17:00 US Central), the loss floor is set to your highest end-of-day balance minus the max loss. The floor never moves down. Once an end-of-day balance reaches your starting balance plus the max loss, the floor is fixed at your starting balance and stops moving. You fail if your live equity, including open profit and loss, touches the floor at any time.
  • Daily loss limit (Express, if chosen). If the day's profit and loss (realised plus open) reaches the limit, your positions are closed and trading is locked until the next session. The account is not failed.
  • Consistency rule (Standard evaluation). Your most profitable trading day must be no more than 50% of your total profit when you reach the target. If it is more, keep trading: the account passes once your total profit is at least twice your best day and at or above the target.
  • Trading day. A session with at least one filled trade.
  • Counting trading day (time between payouts). A trading day on which your account made at least $100 net profit. Only these days count towards the 10 trading days needed between payouts. A day with less profit, or a loss, does not count, but it does not reset the count either.
  • Platforms. Launching soon. The trading platforms you can use are announced before sales open.
  • Products. CME Group equity index, energy, metals, interest rate and FX futures supported by the platform. The list is published and changes only for new accounts.
  • Session cut-off. Positions must be flat by 15:59 US Central (16:10 for some products; the list is published per product). For UK traders, 15:59 US Central is 21:59 UK time for most of the year, and 20:59 for the few weeks in March and late October or early November when US and UK clocks change on different dates. Open positions are closed automatically at the cut-off.

Worked example, max loss (50K): you start at $50,000, so the floor starts at $48,000. You end day one at $50,800 and the floor moves to $48,800. You end day two at $50,300 and the floor stays at $48,800. On day three you are $1,500 up on an open trade at lunchtime but close the day at $50,400: the floor stays at $48,800, because only end-of-day balances move it, never open profit during the day. If your equity dips to $48,800 at any moment, even for a second and even if it recovers before the close, the evaluation fails. Once an end-of-day balance reaches $52,000, the floor is fixed at $50,000 for good.

Worked example, daily loss limit (Express 50K, $1,200 chosen): yesterday ended at $50,600, so your floor is $48,600. Today a realised loss of $700 plus an open loss of $500 makes the day −$1,200: your positions are closed at about $49,400 and trading is locked until the next session. The account is not failed, because $49,400 is above the $48,600 floor. If the floor had been closer than $1,200, touching the floor would have failed the account first.

Worked example, Standard consistency (25K): you make $900 on your best day. To pass, your total profit must be at least $1,800, because $900 is half of $1,800. If your best day were $500, reaching the $1,250 target would be enough.

Worked example, consistency with a losing day (Standard 50K): your days are +$1,800, −$400 and +$1,600. Total profit is $3,000, so you have reached the target, but your best day ($1,800) is 60% of it. Total profit counts losing days, so you need $3,600 in total (twice $1,800). Your next day adds +$700: total $3,700, best day still $1,800, which is under half. You pass.

3. Simulated funded account

The funded account keeps the plan, size, max loss and contract limits of the evaluation you passed.

Details

The funded account keeps the plan style, size, max loss and contract limits of the evaluation you passed. The max loss floor starts again from the funded account's starting balance.

  • Funded accounts per person: 1 at launch, whichever plan.
  • Evaluations per person: up to 5 held at the same time. A passed evaluation counts until its funded account is issued.

4. Payouts

Each plan has its own payout conditions; on both, the minimum is $500 and your identity must be verified.

Details

Standard payouts

  1. Qualifying days. A payout cycle needs 5 qualifying days. A qualifying day is a trading day with net profit of at least $100 (25K) or $150 (50K).
  2. Net profit. Your net profit over the cycle must be positive.
  3. Amount. Up to 50% of your account profit per request, within the payout limits.
  4. Frequency. One request per cycle. A new cycle starts after each payout. There must also be at least 10 counting trading days between payouts (see For both plans).

Worked example (Standard 50K): after 5 qualifying days your account is $2,400 in profit. You can request up to $1,200 (50% of $2,400). This is within your first $5,000 of payouts, so you receive all of it, $1,200.

Worked example, a cycle with a losing day (Standard 25K): you have five qualifying days of +$200 each, then a day of −$1,200. You have 5 qualifying days, but the cycle's net profit is −$200, so you cannot request yet. Once later trading takes the cycle back above $0, you can request, subject to the $500 minimum and the 50% limit.

Express payouts

  1. Consistency. No single trading day may be more than 40% of your total profit since your last payout (or since the account started, for your first payout).
  2. Buffer. Your balance must stay at or above the starting balance plus the max loss plus $100 after the payout: $26,100 (25K) or $52,100 (50K). Only profit above the buffer can be paid.
  3. Limits. Each request is within the payout limits.
  4. Frequency. At least 10 counting trading days between payouts (see For both plans).

Worked example (Express 50K): your balance is $53,600 and the consistency rule is met. The buffer is $52,100, so up to $1,500 is available. This is within your first $5,000 of payouts, so you receive all of it, $1,500.

Worked example, Express consistency (50K): since your last payout you have made $3,000 in total and your best day was $1,500. That is 50%, above the 40% limit, so you cannot request yet. You keep trading until your profit since the last payout is at least $3,750 ($1,500 is 40% of $3,750), or until a bigger total makes your best day 40% or less. Losing days reduce the total.

Why the buffer is the starting balance plus the max loss plus $100: once your end-of-day balance has reached the starting balance plus the max loss, the floor is fixed at the starting balance. Keeping your balance at or above the buffer after a payout means you never withdraw the room between you and that fixed floor, plus $100.

For both plans

  1. Eligibility. Identity verified, and the plan's payout rules above met.
  2. Minimum. $500 per request.
  3. Split. You receive 100% of the first $5,000 paid out in total on each funded account. After that you receive 90% and OmbraProp keeps 10%. If one payout crosses the $5,000 mark, the part up to $5,000 is paid at 100% and the rest at 90%.
  4. Time between payouts. At least 10 trading days between payouts, on simulated funded accounts and on live accounts. A trading day counts only if your account made at least $100 net profit that day (see Definitions). The count starts after the session in which your last payout was paid. Your first payout has no waiting time.
  5. Limits. Payouts have limits per request and per month (see Payout limits below).
  6. Timing. A decision within 1 business day and payment within 2 business days of approval. Every payout is reviewed and released by a person. If we miss a deadline, a fixed credit (for example a free evaluation) is given automatically.
  7. Method. In US dollars, by bank transfer or a payout provider (to be confirmed before launch), to an account in your own name. We pay our own sending fees; your bank's fees and any currency conversion are yours (terms, section 11).
  8. Denials. Only for a listed breach in section 5, with the evidence sent to you: the rule, the trades, the timestamps and the platform data. You can appeal within 14 days and we answer within 5 business days.
  9. Platform fault. If the platform or our systems were at fault during a breach (stale data, an outage, a liquidation error), the account is reinstated or, if that is not possible, the fee refunded.
  10. No forced closure after a set number of payouts. The only exception is the planned move to a live account after 3 payouts (section 7), which is not available at launch.
  11. Live accounts: none at launch. A live programme is planned; see section 7.

Worked example, crossing the $5,000 mark: you have been paid $4,200 in total on a funded account and a further $1,500 payout is approved. The first $800 takes you to $5,000 and is paid at 100%. The other $700 is paid at 90%, so $630. You receive $1,430 and OmbraProp keeps $70. Every later payout on that account is paid at 90%.

Worked example, timing: you request a payout on a Monday. You get a decision by the end of Tuesday (1 business day), and if it is approved the payment is sent by the end of Thursday (2 business days after approval). If a monthly limit applies, part of it is paid the next month instead (see Payout limits below). Your bank may take longer to show it.

Payout limits

Payouts have limits per request and per month. A person reviews every payout before it is paid.

Details

Payouts have limits per request and per month. A person reviews every payout before it is paid.

  • Carried, not refused: if an approved payout is more than a monthly limit allows, the rest stays approved in your account and is paid the next month, in the order requests were made. You see the date each part will be paid.
  • Capacity: at launch we sell at most 75 evaluations a month, and payouts are backed by a payout reserve in a separate bank account.

Worked example, time between payouts: your last payout was paid after Monday's session. You then trade 13 sessions: 10 end with at least $100 net profit, 2 end with $40 and $70 profit, and 1 ends with a loss. The 3 days under $100 do not count and do not reset the count, so you can request your next payout once the 10th day of $100 or more has closed: after 13 sessions, not 10. Your other payout rules must also be met.

5. Conduct

News trading and your own bots are allowed; copy trading only between your own OmbraProp accounts.

Details
  • News trading. Allowed, with no hidden restrictions. That includes holding or opening positions through scheduled releases such as CPI, NFP and FOMC.
  • Automation and copy trading. Bots and algorithms that you run yourself on your own accounts are allowed. Copy trading is allowed only between your own OmbraProp accounts (up to 5 evaluations and 1 funded account), in the same direction (a long when the source is long, a short when it is short); copy sizes may differ within each account's limits. Not allowed: copying trades into OmbraProp from any account at another firm, broker or platform, even your own; copying or mirroring another person; copying in the opposite direction or to hedge; an automated signal feed placing trades on someone else's instructions; account management by someone else; and sharing logins. Using ideas or alerts from anyone is fine as long as you, or software you control, place the trades. You are responsible for your own copier, bot or software: its trades are your trades, and its faults are not platform faults.
  • Order abuse. Not allowed: spoofing or layering (orders you do not intend to be filled, placed to mislead), wash trades (trading with yourself across accounts), and order spam. The published order rate: more than 50 order actions (new orders, changes and cancellations together) in any 10 seconds on one account, or more than 2,000 in one trading day counts as too fast. The software flags it; a person reviews it.
  • Trading platform and market data. You must accept the trading platform's terms and its exchange market data agreement, and answer its professional status questions truthfully.
  • One person, one identity. Identity verification is required before your first funded account. If the same device, IP address, payment card, payout account, address or document appears across different identities, payouts are held for review, you are shown the evidence, and a decision is made within 5 business days. Different people at one address are allowed if each is verified separately and trades independently.
  • Hedging and coordinated trading. Not allowed: opposite positions in the same or a correlated instrument across accounts held by one person or by people acting together. The test is published: opposite entries across linked accounts within about 10 seconds, or profit and loss across accounts that nets to near zero.
  • Simulation exploits. Not allowed: using fills that could not happen in a real market, such as trading illiquid contract months, latency arbitrage between feeds, or a known platform bug. Excluded contract months and products are listed. There is no minimum hold time.
  • Flipping: warnings, then manual review. A flip is a trade opened and closed within 30 seconds. Flipping is not banned. Each trading day with at least one flip gives your account a warning, shown on your dashboard and kept on record. On the second warning your account goes into manual review: payouts wait until a person has reviewed the account, and we tell you the outcome.
  • VPN, VPS and location. Allowed, but the country on your identity check must match. Sanctioned locations are blocked.

Copy trading at a glance. Allowed: a long on your funded account copied as a long to two of your own evaluations, at a different size within each account's limit. Not allowed: copying an account you hold at another prop firm or broker into OmbraProp; copying a friend's or a signal service's trades; a short on one of your accounts while another of yours is long the same or a correlated instrument.

Where OmbraProp is available

Worldwide, including the United States, except the sanctioned countries and regions listed here.

Details

OmbraProp evaluations are open worldwide, including the United States, except in the countries and regions below. This list was last updated on 23 October 2026. It is the list referred to in section 3 of the terms.

We do not serve residents of, or people located in:

  • Russia
  • Belarus
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Cuba
  • the Crimea (including Sevastopol), Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine

and any other country or person subject to UK, EU, UN or US sanctions.

Syria and Venezuela are not on the list: the UK and the US have lifted most of their broad sanctions on Syria, and Venezuela is not under country-wide sanctions. Targeted sanctions on named people, companies and bodies in both countries still apply, and anyone subject to them cannot use OmbraProp. If we add a country, it does not affect an evaluation or funded account you already hold, unless the law or a sanction requires it.

6. Keeping it fair

A one-page summary, live counters on your dashboard and a published change log keep the rules visible.

Details
  • A one-page summary plus this full rulebook, with worked examples.
  • Live counters on your dashboard: distance to max loss, daily loss (Express, if chosen), profit target, consistency, days to payout, flip warnings and how much of your monthly limit is used.
  • A published ruleset version and change log. Old versions are kept.
  • Quarterly statistics: evaluations sold, pass rate, accounts with a payout, total paid, median and largest payout, denials and appeals upheld.
  • Automated checks only flag accounts. A person decides on every conduct flag and every payout, and sends you the evidence.

Change log

R1.2 (24 October 2026) changed the time between payouts and how a trading day counts.

Details
  • 24 October 2026 (R1.2). Section 4: at least 10 trading days between payouts on both plans and on live accounts (section 7), and a day counts only with at least $100 net profit (Definitions; replaces Express "one request every 5 trading days" and live "every 5 live trading days"); payout limits per request and per month are no longer stated as figures; worked examples updated. Section 5: flipping warnings and manual review added (not a ban). Section 7 (planned) is now part of R1.2.
  • 20 October 2026 (R1.1). Section 5: copy trading rewritten (own OmbraProp accounts only, same direction, nothing copied in from other firms); order abuse and a published order rate added; trading platform and market data terms added. Section 3: up to 5 evaluations at once. Monthly caps: typo fixed.
Planned, not available at launch. This section describes a live programme OmbraProp plans to add later. It depends on a futures broker agreeing to it, on legal, tax and employment checks, and on regulatory questions we have not yet asked. Every number may change, and the programme may not open at all. Until it opens, every OmbraProp account is simulated and sections 1 to 6 apply as written.

7. Live accounts (planned) Planned

A planned live programme, not available at launch, for traders after their 3rd payout.

Details

A live account trades real money: OmbraProp's own money, in a futures account that Ombra Trading Ltd holds at a regulated broker. You never deposit money, never pay for losses and never own the account or the money in it. You are paid a share of the real profit you make in it.

Who moves to a live account

  • Qualifying. You qualify when your 3rd payout from your simulated funded account is approved. You also need a verified identity and no open conduct review.
  • Where you live. UK residents can trade a live account only as an employee of Ombra Trading Ltd, under a written employment contract. Residents of other countries trade as independent contractors, but only in countries on a published live countries list; this is pending checks with the broker and on each country's law. This includes the United States. If live trading is not possible for your country, your simulated account closes with a final payout instead.
  • Places and the queue. There are at most 3 live accounts at a time. Traders who qualify join a queue in the order they qualified. While you wait, you keep your simulated funded account and can request payouts under section 4 as usual.
  • Going live is part of the account. When a place is free and it is your turn, the move to live is required, not optional. We give you at least 14 days' written notice of the move date. During the notice period you sign the agreement (the employment contract or the contractor agreement) and complete the broker's forms. You can ask once for up to 14 more days if you have a good reason.
  • If you decline. If you decline the move, or do not complete the steps by the move date, your simulated funded account closes on that date with a final payout: the amount you could request under section 4 that day, without the $500 minimum or the waiting time between payouts. The payout limits, the buffer, the Express consistency rule and the split apply as usual.
  • If we cannot take you. If we cannot offer you a place for a reason that is not your fault (for example the broker does not accept residents of your country), your simulated funded account carries on under sections 3 and 4, and we tell you why.

How the move works

  1. Your simulated account closes at the session close on the move date. Its starting balance was never real money and does not move.
  2. Your profit carries over as real cash. Your profit above the simulated starting balance at that close becomes the live account's starting balance, capped at $5,000. Anything above $5,000 does not carry over: if you want it, request a normal payout during the notice period.
  3. Minimum live start: $2,000. If the profit that carries over is less than $2,000, including $0, OmbraProp adds the difference, so every live account starts with at least $2,000. The starting balance is rounded down to the nearest $100.
  4. The money is OmbraProp's. The live starting balance is paid from a separate live account fund, not from the payout reserve. It is not paid to you and cannot be withdrawn. It is the trading capital for your live account.

$2,500 to $3,999Micros only, up to 101 mini or 10 micros
$4,000 or moreMicros only, up to 202 minis or 20 micros
  • First 10 live trading days. Micros only, with the limit set by your starting balance.
  • Scaling after that. Your limit is set by your end-of-day balance at the previous session close. If it moves into a higher or lower row, the new limit applies from the next session. One mini counts as 10 micros. The top row is the most any live account can trade under R1.2.
  • The broker's limits come first. The broker's and the clearing firm's own risk systems, margins and position limits also apply. If they are tighter than ours, theirs apply, and an order or position they refuse or close is not a breach by you.

Live payouts

  1. Source. Only from real, closed profit in your live account.
  2. Buffer. After a payout your balance must stay at or above the starting balance plus the max loss plus $100. Only profit above that level can be paid.
  3. Frequency and minimum. At least 10 live trading days between payouts, and a live trading day counts only if your live account made at least $100 net profit that day. Minimum $500.
  4. Split. You receive 80%, OmbraProp keeps 20%.
  5. Caps. Live payouts come from the live account's own profit, so the monthly limits in section 4 do not apply to them.
  6. Timing. As section 4: a decision within 1 business day and payment within 2 business days of approval, every payout reviewed and released by a person. If moving the money out of the broker account takes longer, we tell you and pay as soon as it arrives.
  7. How you are paid. Employees are paid through payroll, with tax and National Insurance deducted. Contractors are paid a fee and handle their own tax.

When a live account ends

  • Max loss. If your equity, including open profit and loss, touches the max loss floor, positions are closed and the live account ends. You never pay for a loss, including when the market moves past the floor before positions can be closed, or the account goes below zero.
  • Conduct. Section 5 and the terms (section 8) apply to live accounts too, with the same evidence and appeal route. In addition, every live order must be placed by you personally.
  • Leaving. You can end your live account at any time with 5 business days' notice. You receive 80% of your closed profit above the starting balance as a final live payout.
  • Inactivity. If you place no live trade for 30 days in a row, we may end the account with 14 days' notice and the same final live payout.
  • If OmbraProp pauses or ends live accounts. We may pause or end live accounts only for the reasons listed in the terms (section 18): the broker or clearing firm requires it, the law, a regulator or a sanction requires it, a suspected security problem (a pause of up to 5 business days), or OmbraProp closes the live programme. We give at least 30 days' notice of a programme closure where we can, we tell you the reason where we are allowed to, and you receive the same final live payout.
  • Starting again. After a live account ends you can buy a new evaluation. A new live place needs 3 new payouts and a free place.

Where section 7 differs from our principles

Real money and a broker are involved, so section 7 has a short, listed set of reasons for which OmbraProp can delay a move, pause or end a live account (terms section 18). A move can be delayed or declined only if the broker or clearing firm does not accept you or your country, the law, a regulator or a sanction prevents it, you do not pass the live identity, sanctions or right-to-work checks, a conduct review is open, or the live fund is below the level needed to open a new place safely (terms 18.4). For the broker, law and live fund reasons you keep your place in the queue. We give the reason in writing where we are allowed to. Outside that list, the "no discretion" principle applies to live accounts as it does to simulated ones.

Worked examples

Carry-over capped (Express 50K). Your 3rd payout is approved and you join the queue. A place is free 3 weeks later and you get 14 days' notice. On the move date your simulated balance closes at $56,450, so your profit is $6,450. $5,000 carries over as real cash; the other $1,450 does not, so you request a normal payout during the notice period. Your live account starts at $5,000 with a max loss of $2,000 (floor $3,000) and a daily loss limit of $1,000. For the first 10 live trading days you trade up to 20 micros; after that, up to 2 minis or 20 micros.

Max loss and a payout. You end a day at $5,800: the floor moves up to $3,800. Once an end-of-day balance reaches $7,000, the floor is fixed at $5,000 for good. Later your balance is $8,100. The buffer is $5,000 + $2,000 + $100 = $7,100, so up to $1,000 can be paid. You receive 80% of it, $800.

Small carry-over. Your profit on the move date is $600. OmbraProp adds $1,400, so your live account starts at $2,000, with a max loss of $800 (floor $1,200), a daily loss limit of $400 and up to 5 micros. Your first payout is possible once your balance is above $2,900 (the buffer) by at least $500, so from $3,400.
